Other engagements

Must AS has ownership interests across various industries. These investments and ownership stakes are based, among other things, on an interest in the companies, a belief in the value they create, and the importance the companies have in society. In addition, we support research and higher education, improve access to nature, and contribute to organizations that work for an open and transparent society. We do this partly through the businesses we are involved in, and partly through support and contributions to various organizations and through specific initiatives.

The Must Foundation

The Svanhild and Arne Must Foundation for Medical Research (the Must Foundation) is a foundation established by the Must family in 1994. The foundation’s purpose is to contribute to and support medical research. It has an endowment fund donated by the Must family to support research. The fund currently amounts to NOK 600 million.

Fondsbu Mountain Lodge

The DNT cabin Fondsbu is purchased and owned by Must AS / Fondsfinans Kapitalforvaltning, and is leased to the Norwegian Trekking Association for a symbolic fee so that it can be used by everyone in the mountains.

A core value in a democracy and public life is freedom of expression. Must AS seeks to help protect this value. The company aims to contribute to an open and transparent society and is a main partner of Norwegian PEN and a contributor to its Freedom of Expression Fund.
