Fondsbu Mountain Lodge
Must AS / Fondsfinans Kapitalforvaltning has always been concerned with nature and outdoor recreation, and with making it accessible to as many people as possible. The company therefore supports the Norwegian Trekking Association. In 1991, Must AS / Fondsfinans Kapitalforvaltning purchased the mountain lodge at Bygdin in Jotunheimen and made it available to the Norwegian Trekking Association so that it could be accessible to everyone in the mountains.

The DNT cabin Fondsbu is located at Eidsbugarden, at the western end of Lake Bygdin in Jotunheimen. Fondsbu had 7,611 overnight stays in 2024.
The history of Fondsbu:
- The Norwegian Trekking Association was founded in 1869 by, among others, Thomas Heftye and Aasmund O. Vinje. Heftye was DNT’s first chairman, a position he held until his death in 1886.
- In 1868, Vinje built his cabin at Eidsbugarden, becoming the first cabin owner in Jotunheimen. Upon Vinje’s death in 1870, Heftye acquired the property to use it as accommodation for tourists.
- In 1991, Must AS / Fondsfinans Kapitalforvaltning bought the cabin “Den Glade Vandrer” at Eidsbugarden and renamed it Fondsbu. Fondsfinans then entered into a 40-year lease agreement with the Norwegian Trekking Association for Fondsbu at a rent of one Norwegian krone per year. The agreement has since been extended under unchanged terms. The circle was completed: the Norwegian Trekking Association returned to its birthplace.
